The course is designed for those persons who have been nominated as Fire Wardens and
is designed to satisfy the ‘additional requirements’ of the Fire Precautions (Workplace)
Regulations 1997 (as amended 1999) and is in line with the new Regulatory Reform Order.
This qualification will cover the following topics:
– Reasons for managing health and safety – moral, economic and legal
– Legal requirements for fire safety
– Fire hazards, including the fire triangle
– Fire precautions
– Role of a Fire Warden/Marshal
– Fire extinguishers
A Fire Marshal certificate is awarded to all those who attend the course and successfully complete the assessment.
Understanding of the course material is evaluated by means of a written assessment paper.
Who Should Attend?
All persons who are delegated with the responsibility for implementing the premises evacuation procedure and who may be required, as part of the organisation’s fire routine, to operate a fire extinguisher.
