Live-Online Training or Classroom Training, which is right for you?

At Gaskell Safety all training courses are classroom-based at the Training Centre in Staffordshire, East Midlands.  However, all CITB Site Safety Plus training courses are also available online.  In addition, there is a wide selection of e-learning courses to choose from too.

Classroom-based training gives attendees a dedicated learning environment, away from home and work.  Attendees can freely interact with the tutor and the group for support, partake in practical assessments and have the opportunity to learn from others.  All attendees who book classroom-based training receive hard copies of their course books. which they can keep and review for future reference.

Advantages of classroom-based training:

  • Individual attention
  • Interacting with others in discussions and debates
  • Instant clarification to doubts and questions
  • Learning from peers
  • Building relationships and networking
  • Physical hard copy of course-books
  • Training pace based on the groups learning speed
  • No IT equipment or knowledge required (Zoom etc.,)
Disadvantages

  • Travelling to the Training Centre
  • Cost of fuel and/or overnight stay
  • Time restraints

Live-online training is available for those who would like to qualify for CITB Site Safety Plus training courses.  These are: CITB Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme & Refresher (SSSTS) online, Site Management Safety Training Scheme & Refresher (SMSTS)online or the Health and Safety Awareness (Labourer’s Green Card)online course.

All of these courses are taught by a CITB accredited Tutor, as the same for classroom-based training.  The online training courses are delivered Live via a video call, Zoom, as a virtual classroom.  This means that attendees still have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the tutor and other attendees online.  The tutor is also able to assist with support and guidance where needed. The course has the same structure but with the use of downloadable course books for use during the online training and future reference.

Advantages of Live-online training:
