Course Duration: 1 day
Course Location: Gaskell Safety, 20 Granary Wharf Business Park, Wetmore Rd, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 1DU
Course Cost: £150 +VAT per person
(This includes exam fees, textbooks, equipment ,lunch, teas and coffees)

Course Delivery: As well as the fixed dates, we also offer training at company sites where at least six persons are taking the course. Please call for further details on 01283 777 074.

This course no longer makes you eligible to apply for your CSCS or ECS card but you can book onto our Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers course which will allow you to be eligible to apply for your CSCS or ECS card.

Delegates Must Complete All Sessions To Complete This Course.

Learning Outcomes

The IOSH Working Safely course qualification will cover the following topics:

  • Introducing working safely
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance

Course Benefits

Following successful completion of the IOSH Working Safely course candidates will be able to:

  • Understand why it’s important to work safety and the effects it will have if they fail to do so
  • Identify risks and hazards and the importance of risk assessments
  • Assist in the preparation of risk assessments
  • Appreciate the importance of a health & safety management system
  • Understand safety signs and signals
  • Report accidents and incidents
  • Appreciate the effects of environmental management and how individuals can minimise pollution and waste

Entry requirements

People who currently hold a valid SMSTS certificate that has been achieved within the previous fire years.


Delegates will be assessed via written and practical assessments. Successful candidates will be awarded with an IOSH Working safely certificate.


Delegates can continue their studies by progressing to IOSH Managing Safely.
